Most tasks involving software can be carried out remotely - e.g. adjusting the settings in your operating system - installing or configuring software applications - e-mail account setup - local network (LAN) setup - wi-fi setup. In lots of cases remote assist means problems and faults can be solved quickly and at lower cost than with an onsite visit. |
Remote Assist uses software that is common to most operating systems. For example, Windows 7, Vista and XP have Remote Assistance software installed as standard.
Usually the link is made using your e-mail account or a messenger (e.g. Windows live) account.
